Who Loves Ya Baby?

Hangover day two then, haven't felt too bad but not been as productive as I might have been!

Just a bit of a fun image today-my old Kojak car from sometime in the 70's, I can remember staying up just to watch the show, great!

I also remember playing stock car smash ups with this and the Batmobile as you can see this survived, the Batmobile ended up in the bin, ouch might have been worth a few bob these days. Never mind it was fun which is what toys are for!

Rolling River

Had a great night out last night. Met up with my old pal Craig from ID7 and some of our old school friends, it was really great to see you all.

My thanks to Andy for the lift home too, good luck for move and the future mate. Of course I had to pay for all this enjoyment with a rather large headache this morning but hey ho!

This image is from a little while back when I visited the restored water mill. I would have liked to have got the whole wheel in the frame but such is the layout it's nigh on impossible to do.

I've just found out my pal had some very bad news today. One always feels useless in these situations, words do not seem enough but my thoughts are with you mate.

Life in my hands

I was walking through the fields yesterday, running my hands along the long strands of grass like a schoolboy.

When I looked down these were in my hand just like this, next years seed, life in my hands.

Oh and you've no idea how difficult it was to use the camera in my left hand!!

Why?

Another glorious day, shame we have to work. We see so few sunny days it seems, I think they should all be impromptu holidays!

Nothing remarkable about the image, perfectly good warning-except there isn't a footway for the couple of miles before it either. More of our money down the drain!

Survivor!

No not the eighties band!! This litter bin.!!

I walk past this nearly every day and it occurred to me you don't see them anymore. They were everywhere, at least in my county, when I was a lad and I wondered if this was the last one. So with that in mind I thought I should record it. It may not be a great shot but it is a reminder of our ever changing world.

Oh and what a day eh? Glorious, a walk in the country this morning with Tez, popped out to get some plants and planted up some baskets etc then watch DC get on the podium for Red Bull. Not bad!

Come Out To Play Again or.......

The Last Hole?

Obviously a frame from the same series as yesterday's post.
I liked the sky in this one and the foreground in the other, perhaps I should have combined the two or is that a Photoshop too far? Hey Ho!

Back to working Saturdays then :-/ I wish I could get that Friday feeling back.

Come Out To Play.........

Photobucket
Now the light nights are here.................yeah I'm still listening.

The lyric reminded me of but did not inspire this image. I took this after our RFH meet up whilst I was full of enthusiasm. When I first processed it I wasn't so keen but a second take and I quite like it so bearing in mind yesterday's comments I thought I'd post it.

I don't think I've posted an image yet that I didn't like at the time, I may have gone back and hated it but that's human nature for you.

Let me know what you think, good or bad, all opinions are welcome here.

Signs of Ageing#2

Funny how the mind works, well mine anyway.

I find myself sometimes shooting & processing images with other people's appeal in mind but when all is said and done I can only produce work that pleases me first and hope that others like it too.

So with that in mind here's another shot of my ageing friend. After carefully processing the image from raw I then went to extremes and darkened it right up because I liked the way it looked and the way the face popped out. A lot of detail is lost but I like it that way for once. Was I right? Let me know as ever.

Signs of Ageing

My last day off of work and not spent the way I intended, dropped the car off at the garage to have some brake pads fitted (hadn't planned on that for a start but a nasty noise yesterday prompted me to do so). An hour, a phone call accompanied by a sharp intake of breath later and the price trebled!! Why am I still surprised? It happens every time and not just to me. Ho hum, such is life, could be worse for sure.

Spent yesterday at Hatfield House which I had not visited before. It was great and besides the house and gardens there are some fantastic metal sculptures along the woodland walk which is where I found this fellow looking out from the trunk of a tree. Kinda groovy and spooky at the same time. Might post another of him tomorrow. Might drop him some Nivea off next time I go, looks like the wrinkles are getting to be a problem!

Oh and the new Paul Weller album 22 Dreams dropped through my letter box this morning (it's grooving away in the background as I write). Fantastic, the man is still progressing, still relevant, always seeking out new sounds and creating them. You can keep your ageing rock stars, peddling out the same old stuff year after year, playing the same gigs over and and over again. Go buy it, get the Deluxe Edition, it's worth it just for "Rip The Pages Up" IMHO of course, your mileage may vary.
